1. At present multi-user detection is one of the most promising
directions in the field of increasing the capacity and throughput
of cellular radio communication systems. A great number of researches
and scientific publications are devoted to the denoted direction.
2. The working experience in the field of multi-user detection is
more than 5 years. During this time there are researched the main
known direction in the field of multi-user detection such as: algorithms
based on the maximum likelihood method, decorrelation algorithms,
MMSE, iterative and sequential schemes. Methods of the joint use
of multi-user detectors and decoder (convolution and turbo) - Turbo
Multi-User Detection are investigated.
3. In the course of researches new unique interference canceling
schemes relating to the sequential and interactive class are proposed.
As compared with known methods the proposed algorithm has a higher
convergence rate and better interference stability indicators.
4. The most important problem in the field of multi-user detection
algorithms embedding is the complexity of their implementation.
In this field there are proposed new unique methods of simplifying
multi-user detection based on the implementation of interference
canceling schemes at demodulator output. The basis of the proposed
schemes is methods of fast calculation of mutual influence of user
on each other (mutual correlation coefficients). All proposed know-how
are defended by Russian and International patents.
5. In schemes with reverse coding (Turbo MUD) there is proposed
a method of increasing MUD algorithms convergence based on the improvement
of statistics features at decoder output on each MUD iteration.
6. The improvement of communication channel estimation characteristics
(amplitude, phase, and delay) are researched using multi-user detection
methods. It is shown that the existing communication channel estimation
methods utilizing multi-user detection methods are non-perfect and
can be substantially improved by MUD methods. There are proposed
several simple in implementation and efficient communication channel
estimation algorithms based on MUD methods defended by patents.
